What we’re reading

We have already recommended Jonathan Swan’s podcast series for Axios. The end of Trump’s presidency is fascinating to follow. Particularly because of the access journalists like Swan have. This week we recommend the article Off the rails: Inside the craziest meeting of the Trump presidency. Again, by Jonathan Swan for Axios. I’ve never read an account so bizarre from inside the Oval Office. I’m sure you will agree.

We’ve been working on Imperialism and Decolonisation recently. One of the articles we’ve read recently is the journal article, “Max Havelaar”: An Anti-Imperialist Novel by Anne-Marie Feenberg. It is a fascinating article examining the Dutch Empire’s impact on literature and its subsequent impact on societal attitudes in the Netherlands.

We also enjoyed this article from Lonely Planet about Italy’s underwater cultural heritage. Underwater archaeology is a massive area of research in Italy and with their rich history as a trading centre, it is proving a treasure trove of artefacts.
